Quadrilaterals

To create a square or rectangle, follow these steps:

1. Select the rectangle icon; the cursor will change to a cross and a small rectangle.
2. Click on the drawing area at the point where you want the shape to appear.
3. Drag the cursor (without releasing the mouse button) toward the opposite corner of the desired square or rectangle. As you drag, the shape will take form.
4. Release the mouse button once the shape and size are correct to finalize the object.

Hold down the Control key while dragging to create a perfect square.

Press and hold the Shift key while clicking the starting point to set the marked point as the center of the square or rectangle.

You can also create rounded corners for your shapes.

Four control boxes allow you to control the radius of each corner individually or simultaneously by selecting the Symmetric option.

• Enter the desired corner radius, or set it to 0 if you want sharp, straight corners.

• Graphically control the radius by drugging the transparent square that appears at a corner.

  • Dragging inside the rectangle will create an outward curve.
  • Dragging outside the rectangle will create an inward curve.

  Press the Control key while dragging inside the quadrilateral to force an outward corner. Otherwise, the corner will curve inward.
